Flint Michigan Music
Michigan currently has seven rappers to keep an eye on, and for the purposes of this list I will focus on seven rappers who hail from Flint, Michigan, home to one of the most vibrant hip-hop scenes in the country.
The Corn and Blue Distinguished Scholar Award is the highest academic honor given to a student at the University of Michigan - Flint. The Faces of Flint series kicks off with hip-hop artist Mama Sol, who was born and raised in the city of Flint and will receive Michigan State University's Maizing & Blue Award 2015-2016 in October. The series is made possible by the Flint Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit in partnership with the Michigan Department of Public Health and Human Services. Dr. Ramsey has a group called Chorus of America, which he has composed for children's choirs across the country to perform. He says that the students in Flint who have experienced the water crisis have helped children understand each other and their lives better.
